Paliy Oleksandr Andriyovich

Historian, political scientist, candidate of political sciences.

Born in 1974 in the city of Zvenigorodka in Cherkassy region.

Graduated with honors from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, specializing in Political Science and History.

In 1996-2002 worked as a journalist (the newspaper “Day“, NTCU).

The author of more than 900 videos and articles in newspapers, magazines, and online media.


In 2002-2005 was the coordinator of the Public Council on Freedom of Speech and Information.

Wrote the Manifesto of Ukrainian Journalists on Political Censorship of October 4, 2002, signed by about 500 journalists from whole Ukraine.

Editor of 3 collections devoted to issues of freedom of speech in Ukraine. Author of punct 11, article 71 of the Law of Ukraine “On Elections of People’s Deputies of Ukraine” (2005), which allowed the state bodies of Ukraine to suspend the broadcasting of foreign (Russian) TV channels in Ukraine without a court order.

In 2006 defended dissertation on “National Security of Ukraine in the Context of Euro-Atlantic Integration”. Editor of 2 scientific collections devoted to relations between Ukraine and NATO and the EU.

In 2006-2010 – a leading expert of the Institute of Foreign Policy of the Diplomatic Academy under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Wrote the State Program of Informing the Public on Euro-Atlantic Integration for 2008-2011, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in May 2008.

The author of the books “25 victories of Ukraine” (2013), “History of Ukraine” (2010), “The key to the history of Ukraine” (2005), “Why Ukraine NATO?” (2006).

The author of the book “Short Course of the History of Ukraine” (2017).

In 2018, this book was the first in the world history of Ukraine, published in Arabic. This book is also translated into English, Chinese, German, French, Portuguese, and Russian.
